Kids Love Gadgets

It was a month ago when my 7-year-old son Yogi learned how to send an SMS message using my cell phone. My mom, his granny, was out of town and he missed her so much that he insisted on learning how to do text messages. I only had to show him what to do a couple of times and that was it, he had it down pat. And since then, he’s been bugging me to buy him a cell phone. And that’s almost everyday, and more than a couple of times a day, at that – every time he remembers, that is. But he’s still too young to have a cell phone and I’ve told him that. He might lose it.

I do see a lot of kids with their own cell phones and other hi-tech electronics like a PSP, which he’d stop asking for after learning the price. Hehe. I might buy him a cell phone soon, but not yet. Gladly, he’s listened to Mommy. Good boy, Yogi!

Busy Times Ahead For Me

School started for the little one last week but it wasn’t a busy one for me since they just spent the whole week orienting the students – old friends reacquainting and new ones getting to know each other. They were just playing most of the time as well as also coming to know their teacher.

And with the little one back to school, I don’t think I need weight loss products to lose weight because for certain, I will be losing some because of the pressure and all the tasks involved in seeing to my son’s needs. I have to wake up early to prepare my son’s things and food to take to school. I’ll also have to deal with helping him with his assignments and school projects. Such a never ending task for a mother, but despite the pressure, the fulfillment is there which makes everything simply worth it.

It’s Back to School

Classes started yesterday and the little one was excited to see his classmates again. Though some of his classmates didn’t come to school yesterday, he’s still glad some of them were there. He can be shy with new faces and there were new kids in school – transferees from different schools in the city.

But knowing kids, he got along with the new ones instantly. They already played during their 15 minute break. I was amused watching them. Yesterday was kind of an orientation day and they only stayed for three hours so I just stayed and waited for him. Regular class will start on the 15th so I’ll be a busy mom once again.

Ouch, My Eyes!

There have been something strange going on with my eyes lately and it started the day when we arrived back from our trip to Davao City. It’s been itchy and I feel like there’s something covering my retina. My vision isn’t blurry but there’s a discomfort that is really unusual. Maybe I should get an eye cream of some sort. I’ve been putting Visine on them but there has been no improvement.

I’ve been thinking that the heat during that trip was the culprit. It was so hot and I wasn’t wearing sunglasses to protect my eyes. I know how important sunglasses are. I might get some soon.

Hoping for the Best in His Life

At this time of my life, I’m praying and hoping that my son Yogi won’t be having acne during his teenage years, and certainly not suffer from adult acne and have to deal with the negative emotions and angst it can bring like low self-esteem. I know most of us go through that stage but I know there are lucky ones who don’t and I do hope he will be one of those lucky ones. Some of it is hereditary and good thing, it’s not in our genes, but I’m still anxious about what the future may hold in store for him.

Why am I so worried this early? Gosh, he’s only seven and still has many years until his teenage years. I’m just such a worrier. I’ll just cross that bridge when we get there, in hopes that that bridge never appears on our journey.
