Though Scared, He’s a Good Boy

I have made another appointment with my son Yogi’s dentist today. I did talk about here previously about not having his molar pulled out two weeks ago because he was already crying when the dentist was about to pull it out. I do hope he’ll be a good boy today. I’ve already talked to him heart to heart and face to face and he’s promised to be obedient this time even without being bribed with the dentist’s promotional items. The doctor gave him a personalized toothbrush previously just so he would comply but it didn’t do any good at all.

He was complaining of a little toothache last night which prompted me to ask him if he wanted to get it pulled today. He said yes. The ache must have been really bothering him to have thought of finally being brave and getting it done and over with. It remains to be seen though if the extraction will be successful today. My Li’l Boy was Scared, But…

…he needs to grow up and get tough because our visit to his dentist yesterday was a little annoying; the work to be done was only halfway accomplished due to his fear. Let me tell you the story.

The plan was to have two of his molars filled and one molar extracted because that’s what the dentist advised us during his check up last week when he was suffering from a toothache and gum swelling. Yogi was a good boy from the start of the tooth filling. The dentist was all praise for him for being a good boy and had given him a new toothbrush as a prize.

But when the time that the dentist was going to pull out the tooth – the extraction forceps already holding the tooth, Yogi pushed her hand away and started crying while covering his face. It went on like that for about 10 minutes, and during that time we kept on wooing him and offering him all the bribes we could think of including a Royal Caribbean trip, a Disneyland trip, a trip to the toy store, etc. But unfortunately, he didn’t buy it. So, we had to surrender because there was nothing at all we could do.

Oh well! Yogi was not a good boy today. I just hope he’s not going to whine when his tooth will ache again or I’ll surely take dad to the dentist with us so Yogi will comply. He’s kind of scared of his grandfather and always obeys him. (“,)

A Mother’s Love and Concern

For me, the most difficult thing that a mom has to go through is when her kid is sick. So difficult that you wish you were the one sick and not your child. Though at the age of seven my son can already say what pains him or if he’s not feeling well, it still worries me a lot. He’s not sick now but one problem that I can’t seem to get any solution to is his weight. I’ve given him all the kinds of vitamins that I can think of but it seems to not be doing anything. He’s not gaining any weight at all and sometimes loses a pound or two. Even his doctor is worried about his weight loss.

He lost weight two months ago and though he hasn’t lost any more weight since then, he hasn’t gained any of it back. Maybe you have suggestions or recommendations to share with me to help him gain weight. I’d certainly appreciate it. (“,)

A Woman’s Dream: Sales!

Us women do love shopping but being the thrifty me, I don’t shop ‘til I drop. I only spend what I can afford. And one thing that I always keep an eye on are the “sales” at the mall. Huge discounts are usually offered for many items so it’s really a great time to shop. But unfortunately, I missed the sale last month. I had other priorities to attend to and even though my feet felt itchy to go to the mall; I had no choice but to stop myself. LOL.

There are times that the sale is only for selected items but the one that I missed was a big one since not only the department stores had sales but also the boutiques in the stalls. Darn! There were awesome tops, branded bags, branded shoes and even hgh for sale. Mom got herself a nice bag. Well, it’s not the last sale there’ll ever be. I just hope the next time they throw a big sale like that, my pocket are full of extra moolah and I’m free to shop, shop, and SHOP! Wishy wish wish!

My Poor Li’l Boy

The little one was suffering from a toothache since Sunday but it was only yesterday that we got the chance to visit his dentist. He only complained of pain in his tooth Sunday night and nada after that. His gums were swelling and I thought it would subside after one or two days, but when it didn’t, I decided to take him to the dentist.

The tooth could not be pulled because of an infection. He was prescribed antibiotics. I thought I heard the doctor saying the best hgh supplements but nah! I guess I was just hearing things. LOL. Anyway, we will go back see his dentist again next Saturday to have the tooth extracted.

Suffering from A Toothache

That’s what the little one has been going through since yesterday. And because of that, he wasn’t able to attend classes today. His gums were swelling and he was crying since last night. I didn’t bring him to the dentist because I know the doctor will just give him meds for the swelling. She won’t extract the tooth because it’s aching.

I let my mom bought a pain reliever for him but he said the pain has subsided a little bit so he didn’t take meds yet. Maybe he’d ask if the pain is not tolerable anymore. Remains to be seen though.

Ouch, My Eyes!

There have been something strange going on with my eyes lately and it started the day when we arrived back from our trip to Davao City. It’s been itchy and I feel like there’s something covering my retina. My vision isn’t blurry but there’s a discomfort that is really unusual. Maybe I should get an eye cream of some sort. I’ve been putting Visine on them but there has been no improvement.

I’ve been thinking that the heat during that trip was the culprit. It was so hot and I wasn’t wearing sunglasses to protect my eyes. I know how important sunglasses are. I might get some soon.

What A Joker He Is

We were having our lunch the other day and my son was not eating fast like he usually does. I asked him what was making him so slow in feeding himself. He answered jokingly that he was on a diet. I laughed out loud when I heard him say that. He is only 7 years old, not to mention very thin, yet he was talking about being on a diet. I told him that maybe I should check on a diet supplement review to at least help him with his dieting and he just smiled.

I know he was just kidding, most likely repeating something he’s heard his grandmother say. At his age of seven, he only weighs 20 kg. He’s in the average weight range for children his age, but I would love to see him gain a little more weight. I’ve tried almost every vitamin for kids there is but it has done nothing. Any vitamins that you could recommend? Anyone?

Another Appointment with His Pedia

It was supposed to be on Saturday, the 8th but the doctor was out of town. We could have done it on Tuesday but it was raining hard and I was lazy to go out. Wednesday was not the perfect time too because folks were out of town and nobody’s going to watch our little house. Hehe.

So, today is the day, Thursday. He will have two shots today – one flu shot and one 5in1 shot (forgot the name). I’m trying to update his immunization with the help of my fiance’ in preparation for our medical exams soon. After these shots today, the little one will only have two more shots left – second dose of Hepa A and IPD. Yay!

I can’t believe we’re almost done. His immunization was stopped when he was about 3 years old because that was the time that his daddy was ill already and I couldn’t cope up with the expenses. And I can’t thank my fiance’ enough for helping me with this now. Thanks, Honey! Mwah! (“,)

Recovered at Last!

I’m referring to the little one who after about five days of being sick is now totally okay and is back to his old self again – very hyperactive and all. I felt relief when I checked him this morning and he’s not hot anymore. He’s not looking weak too though his appetite is not back fully yet. He still has that bitter taste in his tongue but it will be gone pretty soon.

I bought him apples yesterday and glad he ate one this morning. An apple a day keeps the doctor away, is it not? I will give him a slice of apple every meal to help him regain the strength that he lost for days.

What a nice day this has been. It truly is a happy mother’s day for me because my little kiddo is now a-okay!
