It’s Back to School

Classes started yesterday and the little one was excited to see his classmates again. Though some of his classmates didn’t come to school yesterday, he’s still glad some of them were there. He can be shy with new faces and there were new kids in school – transferees from different schools in the city.

But knowing kids, he got along with the new ones instantly. They already played during their 15 minute break. I was amused watching them. Yesterday was kind of an orientation day and they only stayed for three hours so I just stayed and waited for him. Regular class will start on the 15th so I’ll be a busy mom once again.

Vacation is Almost Over

Classes for 2010-1011 will start on June 7th here in my part of the world. I haven’t shopped for Yogi’s things yet since I still have about a month to do that. I won’t be buying him the same amount of things I bought last year, though, since his school uniform is still in good shape, but I will be buying him new pair of black shoes, new pair of rubber shoes, socks, a big book bag and school supplies which include textbooks.

He actually already has something in mind on the kind of cartoon character designs that he wants on his pencil case and art stuff and that’s no other than his favorite, Ben 10. We already saw some at the mall yesterday. I just hope they will still be there by the time I’m ready to shop.

School’s Out!!!

Yogi has finished the first grade and he will be in the second grade the next school year 2010-2011. Before I know it, he’ll be in high-school and then in college. And soon enough, he’ll be checking out San Diego job search, seeking the path on the way to a successful future of gainful employment. Imagine how time flies so fast. Wish I could stop it so the little one will remain as my little kiddo.

But he is already excited about going back to school and keeps asking me when it will start again. It is still summer here in our part of the world and classes will resume by June and he simply can’t wait and feels like it’s so far away.

Just be patient, Yogi. Before you know it, you’ll be back in school. And then you’ll be complaining about homework and not having enough time to play your video games. (“,)

A Win-Win Situation For Me

I’m planning to enroll Yogi for extra classes this summer like I did last year. It’s not going to be lsat prep, though, since he’s still too young for that. He’s only 6-years-old and he is still having difficulty with his reading ability. I want him to be a fast reader, so I’ll enroll him in reading classes.

I told my friend who is supervising a playroom at the mall, and she informed me that they are offering summer classes, plus free unlimited playing at the playroom afterwards. Yogi would be delighted with that idea, for sure. And I guess me too since I’d get to window shop, if not totally shop till I drop while Yogi’s having his tutorials and playing. Great idea, eh! Gotta love it!

Two More Weeks

And school is finally over. Whew! What a relief it is for moms like me. Having a student can be a little difficult at times especially if you have a 6-year-old student like me. I am always cramming during day time waking him up, getting him dolled up and preparing his needs. Waking him up alone is already a pain in the neck because he is such a sleepyhead. Too much pressure, really! I only breathe a sigh of relief when the school bus already arrives to pick him up.

But now that school is almost over, wow! I feel so good. Hehe. As if this is the last time he’d go to school, huh? Well, at least I’ll get to relax for two summer months. I do have plans of enrolling him for summer classes but at least I don’t have to wake him up since his classes will be in the afternoon and it’s good for an hour eveyday only. No biggy!

Looking forward to the summer!!!
