Dream Big, Son, and Then Go For It!

When asked what he wants to be when he grows up, my son would answer to be a soldier. But the next time you will ask him, it will be different, as in to be a pilot. LOL. We really find it amusing.

Well, he is only 7 years old so I think that is just a given for a young boy his age. And I do believe it will change in time. Maybe he will say, I want to be one of those seo consultants or perhaps, an astronaut or maybe a scientist. That remains to be seen, but at least he has big dreams and I hope he will be like that until he finishes school.

More Learning = More Earning

On our way home from the retirement dinner party of my fiancé’s colleague last night, we talked about his colleague who works in the technical department. He was given the privilege to take a technology course online thus giving him a higher position at the factory.

Getting a degree in technology was offered to my fiancé too but with the schedule they have at work, he just couldn’t make time for it. But even then, he was given one of those technology jobs that really pays good. They know his capability when it comes to it which is one thing that I admire about him. He’s not only an intelligent man but very hardworking too. Characteristics that I do believe employers look for in their employees.

Kids Do Dream Big

It’s always amusing to hear kids talk about what they want to be when they grow up. My 7-year-old son can’t seem to make up his mind on what he wants to be. First, he wanted to be a soldier then would change his mind in a few seconds and want to be a fighter pilot instead. But if I am lucky enough, it will change to being a doctor or a nurse, much safer occupations that wouldn’t cause a mommy such worry. It’s okay though because he’s still a kid and I let him dream.

But when the time comes for him he to decide then maybe he will choose one of those customer service jobs that you see being offered almost everywhere. Service sector jobs are growing daily, they pay well and any work is noble.

That is still many years from now and I think it’s too early for me to worry about what he’s going to do with his life. I’ll just cross that bridge when I get there and in the meantime try to steer him away from such adventuresome and dangerous careers as a soldier or pilot; that’s just the mommy in me. (“,)
